About Us

Welcome to SoYoga, thank you for joining me. I’m here to not only share my love of yoga but to also help elevate, empower and inspire you to be your happiest, healthiest and most healed self through movement, meditation and mindfulness.

It’s my (probably quite unpopular) opinion that yoga is'n’t always a well balanced practice, we tend to repeat a lot of the same movements, over stretch certain muscles and under use others. I’m hyper mobile which means I can lack stability in my joints, yoga used to sometimes lead to me over stretching/ hyper extending into certain areas which left me feeling uncomfortable or in pain. This is why I’ve spent the last few years developing a style of yoga that is “more than just yoga”. I feel it’s important to create more balance within our practice by incorporating a little more strength and stability. My offerings include yoga, yin yoga, mobility and most recently stress management. My style of teaching ranges from dynamic and fun to slow and restorative with an emphasis on developing your mental strength and flexibility as much as your physical. Whether we’re sweating, getting upside down or having a gentle stretch and relax expect to get some take home tips as I geek out over what poses are going best help desk workers, runners, gym goers, back pain sufferers and much more. It’s my aim to deliver you a practise in which you can learn, grow and have fun with both on and off the mat.

ABOUT ME…

I have been teaching for over three years now, after completing my first training at a Buddhist temple in London I then went on to complete my 200hr Yoga Alliance Accredited Vinyasa teacher training before moving onto to bodyworks, functional anatomy, TRX and suspension yoga training, dynamic yoga, yin, meditation and mindfulness with various world class teachers. I teach privately and in other studios around the Hertfordshire, London and Essex area some of which include workplace wellness sessions of yoga, mobility, meditation, mindfulness and or team building to corporate companies such as Stansted Airport and WeWork.

How yoga helps me...

After being diagnosed with a long term pain condition called Trigeminal Neuralgia yoga helped me take back control over my own health, happiness and wellness. Medication helped to a degree but I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life taking tablets, it seemed like a short term fix for a long term problem. I made the decision to try and manage the TN myself and explore other options. I finally found yoga and as the cliche goes, it really did change my life. Physically, mentally, emotionally and energetically. As a result I’m making it my mission to share with you the magical benefits of the practises and what ever else I learn along the way.

If you’re new to yoga or think yoga is not for you then please don’t let that stop you from trying. My teaching is adapted to your needs always, yoga is for everyone and every BODY.

“Sian is an amazing teacher. I have not come across a teacher like Sian who makes you feel so welcome and able to do yoga at any ability”
